About KoreLock

KoreLock is a smart lock technology company in Greenwood Village, Colorado. We engineer smart lock functionality into any existing or new lock, delivering the embedded PCBs and firmware, cloud platform, access control integrations and white-label apps. We bring smart locks to market with significantly less time, cost and risk. More than 130,000 devices run on KoreLock and our legacy technology today.

What we do

KoreLock gives lock companies everything they need to sell a connected lock under their own name. We engineer the electronics and firmware into your lock, connect it to our cloud, and deliver white-label apps for iOS, Android, and the web. You launch a smart lock that’s yours from the hardware to the app your customers download.

A US company with a US-hosted platform. KoreLock is headquartered in Colorado, and our platform is managed and hosted in the US on AWS with SOC 2-compliant infrastructure. A dedicated instance is available when a customer needs data isolation or residency.

Fitted to your lock, not the other way around. We adapt the board and firmware to your housing, motor, keypad, and power budget, so you don’t redesign your product around a generic module.

Your brand and your customers. The apps carry your name, not ours. Your end users are your customers, and you earn recurring software revenue from every lock you sell.

Security built in. Secure boot, signed over-the-air updates with rollback protection, a Common Criteria EAL 6+ secure element, and mutual TLS with per-device certificates.

Connected without a hub. Our patented Wi-Fi technology connects locks directly to the cloud while preserving battery life, with BLE for local control.

Ready for access control. Our cloud API connects KoreLock-powered locks to any software platform, from access control and property management to your own app. Live integrations include Z9, RemoteLock, and UniKey.

Locks enabled on KoreLock

Our history

KoreLock started as an idea inside RemoteLock, a universal access control company in Denver, Colorado. As more companies asked to use our embedded technology and platform in their own locks, we saw a clear need in the market for a smart lock enablement platform. We build the operating system so you don’t have to, and it works in any lock.

Our thesis is that smart lock capabilities aren’t just expected anymore, they’re needed in every locking mechanism, no matter how niche, not just the residential front door. KoreLock enables intelligence in any lock quickly, at low cost, and with low risk. We bring enterprise capabilities that cost several million dollars to build to products that could never justify that investment on their own.

On October 10, 2022, KoreLock spun out of RemoteLock as its own company, focused entirely on the smart lock platform. By then, the core technology had been proven in the field for more than a decade. In February 2023, we closed our Series A with Iron Gate Capital of Boulder, Colorado, and Kozo Keikaku Engineering (KKE) of Tokyo, alongside management.

Our patent portfolio covers power savings and data transmission for battery-powered smart locks, including how a lock adjusts its radio wake-up schedule to how people actually use the door.

Who builds on KoreLock
